In my recent rustic furniture blog, I talked about the importance of bringing family and friends close together for Christmas. A great way to bring people close together this beautiful holiday season is to bring them around a rustic table, covered with amazing food! It is definitely one of my most favorite things about Christmas. There really is nothing like gathering the whole big family around a beautiful rustic dining table and celebrating the birth of our Lord. This Christmas we will be having ham, stuffing, potatoes, salad, mac and cheese, rolls, birthday cake and much much more. It will be quite the celebration for sure! But, enough about what we are eating this Christmas. I can hear my stomach growling already. It is not even lunch time yet, so seriously enough talk about food.
Why not we get back to what I was really wanting to talk about in this rustic furniture blog, and that is rustic coffee tables.
Take a minute to think back when you were a kid. Christmas was such a magical time of the year. I remember my sisters and I would stay up as late as we could and listen for the reindeer. I swear that one time we did hear them, though it may have been my parents outside of the bedroom window. I would rather believe that there really were reindeer that Christmas Eve night. But anyways, once we finally fell asleep we would all be so anxious about opening our presents that we would wake up really early. My parents had a rule that we could not wake them up before six in the morning. So we would sit there giggling and squirming around just waiting for the time to pass. At that age, time was crawling. The second six am rolled around we were racing into our parent's bedroom and jumping on the bed. I am sure this is not the way they wanted to start Christmas morning, but to us it just couldn't get any better than that.Ok, so now the whole house is awake and the sun is not even up yet. We are waiting to run out to the Christmas tree to see what all took place while we were trying to sleep.
Now, I know I said I was going to talk about rustic coffee tables, I am getting there, I promise. Obviously the Christmas tree is the main focus on Christmas morning. Santa/parents have left lots of colorfully wrapped presents under the tree for us, and in our family our pets would leave us presents too. There is nothing like getting a thoughtful gift from your dog. Well once we had all opened our presents it was time to display them on our rustic coffee table. We would line up everything that could fit on the rustic coffee table and just stare at the presents in amazement. So, now the focus had shifted from the Christmas tree to our wholesale rustic coffee table.

The countdown is on for Christmas day, and I just cannot believe it. This week is packed with Christmas parties, Christmas concerts, and hopefully a night out with the husband to see Christmas lights. We had our Christmas office party last night for AdenWorks and it was awesome. I just love getting the AdenWorks family together to hang out and enjoy some awesome food... fried chicken. You cannot go wrong with that!
My husband and I are trying to get all of our Christmas celebrations lined up for this year. We have four different family Christmas parties to celebrate so we will be busy for sure. It all becomes a balancing act which can be quite challenging at times, but at least we get to see everyone during this most special time of year.
Our first Christmas celebration will begin on Sunday. We will all come together for a day of laughter, memories, and celebration of our Lord's birth! There will be around twenty people there for this celebration so it will be quite the party. We are all in the process of preparing the menu. Its a collaboration between many families and the end result is flat out amazing. I just love all of the different varieties of food that we see around the Christmas table.
Since Christmas is fast approaching (better get that shopping done) I thought it would only be fitting to discuss some great rustic tables. It is hard to believe that we are just over a week away from Christmas Day! I still have some shopping to do, but I will admit that I am in better shape that I usually am. My husband was able to go out this morning and purchase a few more gifts so that always helps. Our house has unwrapped Christmas gifts all over the house. It makes everything feel cluttered but it is better that not having any gifts around at all. Lately, we have had to move all of the Christmas presents into our bedroom to make sure no one who stops by unepectedly sees what we got them. So, now our bedroom looks like a bomb blew up, but again it is ok because I know that progress is being made. Now, I only have a little more shopping to do, and then it is on to wrapping all of the gifts.

In last week's blog we began the discussion of Christmas gifts, and I confessed that I am one of
those last minute frantic shoppers. I run through the mall like a chicken with my head cut off. Well, actually my two sisters and I run through the mall like chickens with our heads cut off. So when people see us coming, they get out of our way. I hate that I am a procrastinator, but you just cannot win everything right??

Well, it is my absolute favorite time of the year. There really is nothing like the Christmas 
season! My neighborhood has come alive with Christmas which I love. Everyone has gone outside and put up Christmas lights and it just looks amazing. My husband and I go on walks frequently with our dogs and I love seeing people's Christmas trees twinkling in the windows. My husband recently surprised me by putting up Christmas icicle lights all around our home. I drove home from our wholesale rustic furniture warehouse and there is was a beautifully decorated home. It was quite the surprise. I added a sparkling small Christmas tree by the front door and our house fits right in with the rest of the twinkling neighborhood. We also have large wreaths hanging on every stop sign which just adds to the holiday charm.
It pretty much feels like Christmas all around except for one thing. That would be the temperature. It is hot here in Texas. In fact right now it is 72 degrees outside. We are wearing short sleeves in December around here. So, there really is not a lot of hot chocolate and warm apple cider being passed around these days. Its more like, bring on the ice cream! So, if the temperature could cool off then I think it would really feel like Christmas is right around the corner.

The table top is handcrafted from old teak barn planks. They show off the beautiful wood grain of teak along with the various colors found within the reclaimed wood. This rustic coffee table is also a great size. It is not to be and then again not too small so it has been very popular. The base even has some old ox bows within its design. This coffee table is not overly rustic so it can blend nicely with several different decorative styles.
Clackamas Coffee Table
This is another great coffee table. It is a bit more rustic has the legs are made up of old wagon wheel hubs. The table to is crafted from reclaimed wagon wheel spokes. This is a very unique rustic coffee table due to the reclaimed elements in its construction. This is a pretty skinny coffee table so it is great for smaller spaces.
Junipine Glass Top Coffee Table

It is finally Friday!! Sometimes it feels like we are not going to ever get to Friday and then somehow they always seem to roll in at the perfect time. This weekend is a sports weekend for my husband and I. It is all about football and baseball and I am looking forward to it for sure! There is also a cold front blowing in from Canada this weekend which will really cool things off. By late tonight I will probably be in my ski coat. After all I am a Texas which means I have literally no tolerance for cold weather. But it is going to be a great weekend for sure! What are all of you up to this weekend? Are you getting in on all of the football games? Is it college or professional that gets your attention? Or are you too wrapped up in baseball to think about anything else? Or could you care less about sports and you are off to enjoy the Fall weather with family and friends? Perhaps you are going to get a head start on the pumpkin patch. I know I cannot wait to decorate the outside of my house with pumpkins. Whatever you do this weekend, we hope it is a wonderful and enjoyable weekend.
But before we head off to the weekend, lets make sure we all put in a productive day at work. Do you get easily overwhelmed by the word shipping? Well, what about when I combine the words shipping and furniture? For some people when they here those two words use in the same sentence they simply shut down. Shipping and furniture automatically means money.
Well, in today’s rustic furniture blog, I wanted to go over shipping as it applies to furniture, specifically AdenWorks’ rustic furniture.
I cannot tell you how many questions I receive about shipping rustic furniture. Everyone wants to know what the freight charges are going to be. I am here to say, do not let freight charges scare you away from making large item purchases. Freight does not need to be a scary thing. And sometimes the freight rates will be much better than you were expected. So, before you walk away from a great piece of rustic furniture because of the freight, check out this blog and see if it helps ease your fears.
Freight charges are determined by the following:
- What exactly are you shipping?
- How many pieces are you shipping?
- Where are you shipping to?
- What is the total weight of your shipment?
- What are the dimensions your shipment?
- What is the freight class for your shipment?
- What is the NMFC number for your shipment?
- What services do you need for your shipment?
Some of the above questions seem pretty self explananotory. Thaner thaer are others that may be a bit more confusing.

You determine the freight class by the following:

In yesterdays rustic furniture blog I talked about how I am already getting ready for Thanksgiving. I have four Thanksgiving celebrations this year and one will be starting a few weeks earlier.
So, in order to throw a successful Thanksgiving party, you have to have the main attraction, well I guess the second main attraction. The main attraction is the food. Last night, before I went to bed I was planning one of our many Thanksgivings. I know it sounds a bit crazy, I mean it is a little early, but I just cannot help myself. Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays. I just love getting the whole family together around a big table. We enjoy a lot of laughter, many walks down memory lane and some really good food. Then it is off to watch football and crash from a turkey overload. Then after we wake up from one of several naps it is time for dessert. Later that night we pull out all of the food and chow down on some left overs. Yep, Thanksgiving is on its way and I cannot wait!
My husband and I have several Thanksgivings to attend. In fact, we have four in all. Fortunately we spread them out over several days so we do not loose our minds or our waistlines. The first Thanksgiving is going to be with a close group of friends. It is a tradition we have started and this year will make three years. One of the girls in the group is prego prego and is due right around Thanksgiving. So, in an effort to celebrate Thanksgiving before she goes into labor, we will be celebrating a bit earlier this year. So, I guess I do not sound too crazy. I am already thinking about Thanksgiving because our first one is right around the corner.
Whenever I start thinking about Thanksgiving I immediately think about rustic dining tables. I just cannot help myself. I mean afterall I work and design for a wholesale rustic furniture company. It is probably a good thing that I am obsessed with rustic tables.
So, if you are like me and starting to plan for your Thanksgiving, lets take a look at your dining room before you do anything else. The most important part to a successful Thanksgiving is your rustic dining table. You want a table that all of your family and friends can sit around, but you also want a table that can be used at other times throughout the year.
